What instruments?

Guitar, piano, and drums when I can. I live in an apartment so drums are hard to play here.

 

When did you start playing?

I started playing guitar when I was 14 years old. I played at a quick guitar class a summer camp. From there I was sparked and have been playing ever since.

 

Did you teach yourself?

Do we really teach ourselves? I feel the internet taught me the most. From tutorials to chord sheet.

 

2. Do you write songs?

 

Do you write lyrics, music or both?

I write it all. Just pick up a guitar and see what happens most of the time.

 

Do you have a writing partner?

I do, I've got my mom, my friend Josh, and my roommates.

 

3. Do you record your music?

 

Do you use a home studio? If so what gear do you use?

I record in my bedroom. I use an AKG 220 condenser mic. Reaper is my DAW of choice (because it's cheap)

 

Do you use a recording studio?

I have never even been in a studio

 

Do you have music available on the web? if so where?

I have two originals on Spotify, the rest a use SoundCloud because free.

 

4. What other roles do you perform in the music business?

I'm a simple freelance artist

 

5. Are you a tech head?

I wouldn't really call myself a tech head. I enjoy building computers and understanding how each part works in tandem. 

6. What country do you live in?

I live in the southern United States. The capital of country music.

7. What are your ambitions?

I want to perform shows in front of thousands of people. To hear them sing my songs. To be the artist that listen to when there are feeling happy and sad. When they need to share emotions. I want to inspire more people to write and sing.

8. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit?

I paint. Put some Bob Ross on and chill with a canvas and a cup of coffee.

What are your pastimes?

I read as much as I can. I'm working most of the time though.

9. What would you like to get out of Songstuff?

To make friends, build trust and be here for people. As well as developing my songwriting.

Hey Jacie nice to have you onboard. I noticed the part about 47 years on violin, whoa! I'm a third year student. 

 

I had to laugh at the question- Did you teach yourself to play? I don't think you can do very well on that instrument without a teacher.

My name is Jean Sauvé and I live in Kanata, Ontario. I am a singer songwriter who started playing the accordion at the age of 8 (5 years of lessons; actually a solid foundation on a difficult instrument 😚 ) then morphed into my teens playing keyboards  for some local rock bands. My mainstay during the last 2 decades has been the acoustic guitar and original music. I mainly play instruments, I do sing, but I don't record it yet, I'm not confident enough for that.

Gaming, reading about science and medical studies, reddit, Memes, idle mobile games, jamming with instruments, listening to music, singing song to the music, and chatting to people/social media.

Just to be somewhere where there are other musicians. Maybe learn some stuff from other musicians and hopefully be a part of a community of musicians that helps me stay motivated.

I sing, and I play guitar and piano! I started playing classical piano first, then I picked up the guitar at 12 years old. I taught myself guitar with the help of Youtube tutorials

Nope I'm a solo gal at the moment!

I write songs mostly about relationships feelings  and some issues close to me.

I do record my music, at the moment I'm working on my first EP and some of my songs are out on soundcloud.

I like to help others with lyric and songwriting.

I like writing stories! Drawing too but I'm not so good at it, also I love taking photos :)

I am a singer, I’ve been singing for about 9 years. I did teach me myself but I also started taking vocal lessons about a year ago

 

2. Are you in a band or bands?

 

No band. 

 

3. Do you write songs?

 

I do write songs, I’ve been writing lyrics nonstop for about 9 years but I always had a passion for writing. I used to want to be an author when I was younger.

 

4. Do you record your music?

 

I do record my music I’ve been recording since I was 13, most of it has been by myself but I have been to a couple professional studios over the years. I finally got in with a really talented engineer about a month ago and I’m going to be working with him for the rest of my time in Texas. I have some of my older stuff on a lot of platforms. iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, google play, SoundCloud. All of that. 

 

5. What other roles do you perform in the music business?

 

None.....yet :) as of now I can sing and I can write songs for other people to sing, or rap if that’s what you’re into.

 

6. Are you a tech head?

 

Sort of. I’ve been studying music in school for about a year now and obviously I have favorite DAW’s and preferred microphones.

United States..

 

8. What are your ambitions?

 

I really want to be a leader in all of my communities. I don’t want to get too deep into the subject but changing the thins people see as “cool” in the mainstream media would be nice.

Once an author always an author. I do regular stuff like cook and play video games. I’m also a huge soccer fan. Mia San Mia

Hi everyone, nice to be a part of this music community.  Will be great to see where this could lead.

 

1. Do you sing, play an instrument or instruments? No formal training but do play chords and riffs on virtual synths for music production.

 

2. Are you in a band or bands? No, solo musician.

3. Do you write songs? Not at the moment but this could expand in the future.

 

Do you write lyrics, music or both?

Compose my own music.

 

Do you have a writing partner? No

 

4. Do you record your music? Yes 

 

Do you use a home studio? If so what gear do you use? Digital workstation and virtual instruments and Vst studio production tools. 

 

5. What other roles do you perform in the music business? None.

 

Management? Label owner? Publishing? Promotion? Other? Independent label owner 

 

6. Are you a tech head? I like the technical aspects of wave synthesis and the  elements of mixdown/mastering at the DIY level. 

 

7. What country do you live in? Canada 

 

8. What are your ambitions? Share music with the world and collaborate with other artist to create music as well. 

 

9. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit? Music production only at the moment

 

What are your pastimes? Making music, travel, road trips, hiking, fishing, outdoors.

Continuous learning of music production and mixdown/mastering techniques.

 

10. What would you like to get out of Songstuff? 

Find other like minded artists to collaborate with and to do remixes of original works from other artists.

What instruments? Guitar and Bass,Fumble a little on keys

 

When did you start playing?  as a trombone player in school then in the 80's stetted to learn Bass

 

Did you teach yourself? I took lessons for bass. Self taught on guitar but got tips from other guitarists

What is the name of the band?In a band just starting out no name yet

 

What do you play?Bass

 

What other instruments are in the band? Guitars Bass and drums

Do you have a writing partner? Have a few friends we bounce ides off of.

What instruments? Vocals, various guitars, bass, drums, classical percussion & Latin percussion, harmonica, and a universal willingness to fumble with the rest

 

When did you start playing? Many moons ago.

 

Did you teach yourself? Taught as a youth, whereupon I was ill-disposed to appreciate the value of the teachings, which were put to better use when I grew up, wised-up as I grew, and continued to self-teach from my teenage years onwards

 

2. Are you in a band or bands?

 

Not other than the band that I am :)

 

3. Do you write songs?

 

Do you write lyrics, music or both? Both - lyrics across a wide subject range, music everything from trap to classical composition

 

Do you have a writing partner? From time to time, but none regular.

 

4. Do you record your music?

 

Do you use a home studio? If so what gear do you use? GarageBand. Imposed limits, much like smiles of bemusement, can be fun.

 

Do you use a recording studio? On project other than my own.

 

Do you have music available on the web?  Yes  if so where?

8. What are your ambitions? Long term, to take my work as far as the public will have it go. The short term, to build a following who might appreciate the work, and work with others whose work I appreciate.
