Hello I'm Jay - Secret Love Songs On Valentines Day

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm Jay,

Nice to meet you all. I play guitar and recently started writing and recording my own songs, mainly for pleasure but I decided to share them in the hopes that the someone special who I wrote them for would see them and enjoy them too.

It is great to find a creative community here, I hope to improve my songwriting and continue to be inspired by the beauty of life, people and moments in life.

Here is a link to the songs I have written so far...

Valentine's Day Song "Beautiful Soul" (Original)

End Of The World Love Song "Kiss Me" (Original)

If you have any thoughts, suggestions or tips they would be very much appreciated.

Thank you all :)

Jay

haha, funny photo Tom! I would like to start recording to a click track, do you know any good free software for this or possibly creating basic drum beats as a guide?

Thanks so much Lisa for your encouraging words, is nice to meet you. I noticed you are on soundcloud, I have not tried it yet, what do you like about it? do you prefer it to youtube?

Jay, I try to get Justsoulin to explain it too but the little snippets I get make me realize how spoiled I am here in the States.

As for Soundcloud and Youtube they have the followers/subscribers in common but Soundcloud lets me do just audio very easily, and Youtube is more for videos and moviemaker projects...I only have one on Youtube...tee hee.

I don't play an instrument so my Soundcloud has my acapella songs that I've written and loops I required from attending Berklee Online Course. Looking forward to seeing you on the boards!

Thanks Lisa, I think I might give soundcloud a go. It looks like an easy way to get feedback on mixes/edits/arrangements and once I am happy with the song I can make it into a video and add it to youtube ;)

Hi Michelle, thanks for your kind words, nice to meet you. Do you write the melody to your lyrics also?

Hello Ames, thank you, there seems to be lots of nice people here who have an interest in all parts of music making which is great. I see you write lyrics too, have you done any collaborations with musicians to make your lyrics into a song?

http://www.youtube.com/user/Jay1YT       These are both very good, they have a ground sound. The softness in your voice is amazing. One suggestion would be to speed the chorus up just a tad bit, so it would be a little contrast, not much though. I loved it!
