Lyrics Writing Challenge #21 - Out With The Old And In With The New!

Hi Gang

 

A nice simple challenge for you all... it's very open, no song form restrictions etc. The concept is simple... at New Year, I thought it appropriate to suggest a simple topic challenge around change, old to new, that was then, this is now etc.

 

It would be nice if your works have an emotional dimension, but exactly wht you want to write and how you write it is entirely up to you!

Thanks for the challenge, John. This is a good push! I have a lyric to work on that has been hounding me for a long while and it fits this challenge (I think 🤔).

Definitely has the feel of inward and surrounding renovation, dealing with the past with the future yet to be, unknown as of yet.  Left with a sense of neutrality of emotion, possibly hard-won to get that far.  Very emotionally packed!

Hey, Had to squeeze this challenge in before the change of new year.  Got a half hour before that happens.  Amazing that I am still up and functional!  Usually I'm zonked by now.  Maybe I'll make it until the ball drops?

Just finished this song...May need some work, but had a bazillion thoughts I had to squish into song wording.  I'm sure to find out how effectively.  HAPPY NEW YEAR (early I know, but late for me).
